A smashing walk on the S Gower today with lovely weather, a great group, plenty of variety and lunch on the beach. We walked through parkland and woods, visiting a neolithic burial chamber and a cave inhabited for thousands of years. We climbed a small hill but it was pretty hazy so the views were not as extensive as usual. Then it was off to the beach for lunch. We had one swimmer and several paddlers. Back to the Wales Coastal path with tremendous views both ways along the Gower coast round to Pennard Pill where the river was crossed by stepping stones then up to the remains of Pennard castle. Finally, it was back to the start, picking up a well deserved real dairy ice cream on the way.
